Youth Town Hall Meeting

Come meet Congresswoman Vicky Hartzler, the US Representative for Missouri's 4th congressional district. Learn more about the federal government and ask her questions.

This is a non-partisan, educational event. While this event is open to everyone, it is geared for youth of all ages. Only the youth will be invited to submit questions. We want to encourage youth to get involved with government at all levels.

Congresswoman Hartzler will answer questions submitted through this website, as well as questions from the audience, for the first hour. She has agreed to stay after the event to greet those attending.

ORGANIZERS

This event is hosted by Jacob Schelp, Zackary Sample, and Claire Thurnau. They want more youth to learn about government and politics.

Jacob is an 11-year-old boy 6th grade homeschool student. He has always had a passion for history, and recently became involved in politics and government. He is the youngest member of the local Pachyderm Club. He wants more youth to get excited with politics, so he came up with the idea of a Youth Town Hall. He is active in his church's youth group and special needs ministry. He dreams of one day being a legislator, then governor, and eventually President.

Zackary is an 8th grade homeschool student. He is passionate about environment and the role the government has in protecting it. He has an inquisitive mind and an eye for detail. He is responsible for promoting the event on social media and will be live streaming it on Facebook.

Claire Thurnau is a 13-year old 8th grader at Southern Boone Middle School. She enjoys cheerleading- both competitively on two all-star teams as well as for the school football team. When she's not practicing tumbling, stunts and jumping, she is active in the Alive in Christ Lutheran youth group and enjoys baking. She currently has her sights set on law school after high school and college.
